A letter from Ioana Stroe, Winnipeg Lab Manager & SR Seed Analyst
What inspired Bob Dylan to write those famous lyrics?
And how easy or how hard did that process go? Why ask when we already know the answer?!
Maybe we just need to hear it from somebody else as well.
The remarkable insight leading to creation and growth relies on keen observation and usage of all the information one can gather. And this relates to crop quality as well. When you know what you sow, you can own your season much better than when relying on chance.
It makes us proud to know you’ve made 20/20 Seed Labs your partner in building the chart for your seed quality diagnostics. Through the years we’ve learned and experienced growth together, consolidating our collaboration through transparent, reliable, efficient, and innovative exchanges. And, although the times are changing, our commitment to you stays the same, focusing on how we may assist your growth and success.
Talking about change, we have exciting news: this summer, the Winnipeg branch will undergo renovations, expanding our layout into three units at the well-known Pembina Highway location, 3487, 3489, 3491. We will add walk-in germinators, resulting in a greater capacity for sample processing. There will be photos of the “before and after” to be found on our social media channels.
We also recently welcomed a new member of the team, Zina Salnykova. Currently a Seed Analyst in training, Zina is preparing for the full accreditation examination in the fall. Did you know that seed analysts are a “rare breed”? Currently there are no university or secondary training programs in Canada available for interested candidates in this career. Seed laboratories are training their staff internally and upon proven eligibility for accreditation, the candidates are granted acceptance to challenge the examination.
Talking about accreditations, the experienced staff at 20/20 Seed Labs Inc. is actively supporting Registered Seed Establishments in maintaining their status by providing courses for aspiring Operators/Graders. In Winnipeg we’ve successfully introduced a virtual course layout, accessing all the resources needed by the course participants online. We can follow the same approach for candidates interested in training leading to their SICA accreditation.
Back to Bob Dylan, a little interesting fact is to be discovered here.

We openly invite you to stop by our locations, get to know your seed testing teams and see the lab. We say: Cheers to a great upcoming season, may the grain be golden, and the harvest be plentiful!
