The soil test for clubroot was originally developed by the University of Alberta but was further refined and enhanced by 20/20 Seed Labs Inc by developing proprietary DNA extraction procedures to allow it to be practically used on a commercial scale providing greater sensitivity and confidence in the results. The test is offered on both soil and plant tissue.
Clubroot is a serious soil-borne disease of cruciferous crops. In canola, it causes galls to form on the roots, which ultimately causes premature death of the plant. More information can be found in our clubroot tech bulletin and at the Canola Council of Canada website.
